There’s a new quickie-mart in town, but this time it’s bursting of all-natural healthy instant-food!       Nothing works on you better than fresh, raw salad bowls in a reusable palatable container like this one. Which reminds me, I have to ask them where to source these lil pretties.   I especially like boosters  made of superfoods because their concentrated micronutrients that goes straight to our bloodstream for that instant energy-lift. Balinese cooking workshop @ Dahon Kusina

Perhaps Asha’s most soulful workshop, a taste of Balinese cusine with Ibu Nora of Soho Indonesia was an experience to keep biting back to. I took my first workshop with Asha two years back, we were learning Thai cuisine but what was imprinted in me then was Mindful language, something I lack in particular. Now, aside from the mouth-watering Balinese recipes, I learned the importance of plating and setting beautifully arranged dishes-again something I didnt … Read the rest

Hai Shin Lou, known for their fresh seafood and delectable meat also has one of the best Chinese Vegetarian options in Metro Manila. As a regular, here as some of our favorite meatless orders that are just as savory as it’s meaty counterparts.       This addicting snack comes free in the table. Light and crispy (not to mention refillable) it’s easy to ruin one’s appetite by over-munching on this crispies (which is … Read the rest

3rd annual Vegan picnic

Every year, a Vegan picnic is held, hosted by Azalea Bianca Antonio of Philippine Vegetarian Society. (Thanks for the photos Azalea) We (Cocogreen and Agico vegetarians) were invited for the first time. Talks of business, leisure, politics and organic finds floated aboard. Andrew brought a sushi platter, which was widely appreciated by the Vegan Club. Everyone brought in their specialty dishes, ironically no one brought greens. We were so thrilled to have met the … Read the rest

Cocogreen’s vegan favorites!

Vegans have the most discriminating taste buds, simply because of their palate sensitivity. The absence of meat has trained their sense of taste overtime to recognize even the most subtle hints of flavor. Which is why it’s important for any caterer, chef or cook to understand that the gauge in which vegetarians will judge a dish is not the same as that of regular customers. My mom being none-vegetarian for instance, will gear towards strong … Read the rest

Sunday feast at the Harekrishna temple

What do Bliss Yoga babies do on a lazy Sunday? Hunt for free food! So when we were invited for a vegetarian buffet by our Harikrishna friends, we jumped at the chance.   We purchased the vegetarian burger (P30), vegetarian cookies (P50) and the pita breads (P50) later on. Donna loved them all but I only like the vegetarian patties and the pita bread as the cookies had milk which ended up ruining my stomach. … Read the rest

Dream chaser: In the bloom

It’s all coming into fruition now. Three years of wandering, aimless shooting and spread out efforts has led me into this zone. “We rarely meet someone by coincidence” Quick and seemingly random run-throughs have proven to be influential in opening doors for a vision I didn’t even know I had. “Every person you meet along the way is your teacher and your student. ”   LEARN.   I can feel the excitement in my pulse. … Read the rest

Skinny no more

I didnt become vegan to lose weight, in fact I was skinnier before than I was now. It’s actually easy to lose yourself to starch and carbohydrates in a vegetarian diet as opposed to the lean protein intake of a meat-based one.   Losing weight is all about discipline; Everything in moderation and dont forget to sweat off the excess pounds. It’s as simple and as difficult as that. With the rise of fad … Read the rest
